Convenient, Confidential, and Healing: Online Therapy in Connecticut
Online Therapy in Connecticut—For When You Can’t “Do it All”
The pressure is always on, from the moment you wake up. The expectations are high and it feels like you can never meet them—but that’s nothing compared to the even higher expectations, criticism, and shame going on within you. You are doing everything for everyone and trying to be the perfect, smiling person you’re supposed to be.
But it’s a performance.
Deep down, you’re exhausted, drained. And internally? You feel lonely, invisible, guarded, and imperfect. But you’re sick of pretending.
Virtual Therapy May be the Solution You’ve been Looking for
You want to start therapy, to finally focus on all the draining thoughts and feelings you hide from everyone, but it’s not that simple. Your job is demanding. Your family is time-consuming. You don’t have time to take care of them and then ALSO spend tons of time in traffic on the Merritt Parkway or I-91.
You want high-quality mental health care. You know you want the help of a professional who understands your lived experiences and can gently challenge you, help you see past your blindspots. At Nurturing Willow Psychotherapy, we can help. Alice Zic, a skilled and compassionate licensed therapist, offers online therapy to residents of Connecticut for childhood trauma, parentification trauma and teen anxiety. Through the use of secure video chat, we are able to provide highly specialized virtual therapy without the hassle of coming into a physical office.

Simple, Compassionate, and Confidential Healing that Offers Deep-Rooted Work—Right Where You Are
Virtual Therapy for Childhood Trauma
You grew up with a disinterested mother at best and an invasive, critical mother at worst. You never experienced the delightful, loving joy of that “best friend” mother-daughter relationship. Who do you turn to when you don’t know what to do, when you need something, when you want a role model to look up to?
All she did was shut you down and shut you out.
What if your internal critical voice, need to hide your feelings, and desperation to people-please and be perfect could change?
What if you could finally experience the inner peace you crave?
In childhood trauma therapy at Nurturing Willow Psychotherapy, I help mother wounded women connect with their internal needs, find their voices and confidence, and set boundaries without guilt. Through the trauma-focused technique of Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy, we support your system to tune into its needs and provide the care, reparenting, and self-love it deserves. Online Counseling for Teen Anxiety
Your teen has always been the sweet, sensitive one. The “old soul.” They were always able to navigate the hard stuff on their own. But as you are watching them grow, as life is getting more complicated, you are watching them get more and more anxious. Now, they constantly worry about being good enough, perfect enough. They panic. What if they disappoint everyone around them? It’s hurting you to watch them be in pain.
The truth is: it’s scaring you too. And with online counseling for teen anxiety, we can figure it out, navigate this tough space, and get to the other side of healing together, as a team.
At Nurturing Willow Psychotherapy, I specialize in working with anxious teens. Through our work together, I help teens (and their caregivers) understand the root causes of their anxiety and learn strategies to help them feel less overwhelmed, less consumed by high pressure and expectations, and become accepting of themselves.
Online Therapy for Parentification Trauma
You have always been caught in between two worlds and somehow you have never been enough for either one. You’re always pushing forward, on the go, on demand for your family. You’re trying to meet their expectations. But the thing is, you’re ot really who they want you to be. No matter how much effort you put in, how much you do on the inside you just feel empty, alone, invisible. The truth is, they don’t really see you. Does it matter who you are, not just what you do?
Being an eldest daughter and a daughter of immigrants comes with a seemingly insurmountable amount of pressure, and the moment you speak it into existence you somehow become the villain.
What if you could finally pause and stop feeling obligated to do everything for everyone? What if trauma therapy finally gave you the space to be seen for who you are rather than what you are and what you do?
Through online parentification trauma therapy at Nurturing Willow Psychotherapy, I help eldest daughters and adult daughters of immigrants slow down, let go of perfectionism, and finally accept themselves as they are (instead of just what they can do for other people). Through the trauma-focused technique of Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy, we support your system to tune into its needs and provide the care, ease, reparenting, and acceptance it deserves. Is Telehealth Effective?
Virtual Therapy in Connecticut and Virginia Makes Healing Happen Right Where You Are
Yes, absolutely! The world is increasingly complicated and busy and sometimes, getting to an in-person office, with a therapist who is the right fit and has an opening that works for you is just tough to find. Telehealth increases your options and the likelihood that you can do the meaningful, deep work that you have been looking for, in a way that truly works for you.
Virtual counseling also makes the healing process easier because you get to immediately take the skills we are practicing through our work together into the world, as it works with and for you.
In your space, you can do that in a number of ways:
sitting in your favorite chair
using a fidget and/or sensory items to support you in feeling present and grounded
getting a warm, cozy blanket
even being near your pet and/or plants!
It’s part of making your valuable virtual counseling time safe, approachable, and available to you in a way that meets and tunes into your body’s needs.
