A Trauma Therapist and Teen Counselor Who Gets You

Hi, I’m Alice (she/her)

I specialize in working with those who feel both “too much” and “not enough” at the same time, who have been so focused on pleasing and accommodating others that they have lost their internal connection to themselves: their identity, their joy.

Many of the individuals I work with have accelerated into adulthood, making sure to never fall out of line, focusing on the calmness of others, only to be taken aback one day and realize that when something goes wrong, they’re terrified, deeply ashamed, and overwhelmed.

Like you, my clients have felt othered, lonely, observing themselves as outsiders, and feeling different and far apart has come with confusion, sadness, and loss.

I am deeply passionate about this work because I have been there. I understand what it’s like to experience and witness tremendous growth, to hold both gifts and hurt within the safety of the therapeutic process, and to emerge more connected.

In my personal life? I love being both downright silly and sarcastic, and I consume comedy TV shows like they might disappear. I drink hot coffee and tea year-round (yes, even when it’s sweltering outdoors) because I enjoy the soothing warmth of that ritual. I am a therapist and daughter of Bosnian immigrants. I grew up in a bilingual and multigenerational household, tethered among cultures and navigating the space in between those worlds.

I believe that therapy allows for radical hope and continued, glimmers of possibility. It’s what I love most about this work.

If you feel ready to evolve into the fullest version of you, I would love to help you get there.

Sound good to you?

How I Work With You

As a Trauma Therapist & Teen Counselor

I use an approach called relational/interpersonal neurobiology and rooted in Internal Family Systems (IFS). What does this mean?

  • I welcome every part of you, exactly as you are

  • I care about how your past impacts your present

  • I partner with you to build curiosity and compassion for yourself and the tools you have needed to keep yourself safe and protected—both the tools you have considered “good” and “bad”

  • Sometimes in our sessions we will talk and sometimes we will use experiential tools (creative, expressive, art-based tools) to support you in bringing what is unspeakable to being witnessed and released

Education, Trainings, & Certifications

  • Internal Family Systems (IFS)-informed

  • 4+ years of Play Therapy & Synergetic Play Therapy Training

I focus on providing therapy for:

  • Parentification Trauma: You grew up too fast and have had to “keep it together” ever since. You can hold care for your family and heal the younger part of you too. Life doesn’t have to stay overwhelming and scary.

  • Childhood Trauma: You never felt seen. You have always taken care of others. Heal your past so your present can feel more connected and joyful. And so that you can take care of yourself, too.

  • Teens with Anxiety & Low Self-Esteem: Your teen is stuck, hard on themselves, and shutting down. Get them back to feeling capable and confident.
